Get ready for cinematic brilliance as Francis Ford Coppola’s highly anticipated film Megalopolis makes its premiere in competition at the Cannes Film Festival. With a star studded ensemble cast featuring powerhouse talents such as Giancarlo Esposito, Nathalie Emmanuel, Aubrey Plaza, Adam Driver, Dustin Hoffman, and more, this epic masterpiece promises to be a tour de force of storytelling and visual spectacle. According to an official synopsis, Megalopolis is “a Roman Epic fable set in an imagined Modern America.” Driver stars as Cesar Catalina, “a genius artist who seeks to leap into a utopian, idealistic future.” Not everyone shares his optimistic outlook, however. Mayor Franklyn Cicero, who rules the city of New Rome, wants to preserve the regressive status quo by perpetuating greed, special interests, and partisan warfare. With its stellar cast, visionary director, and ambitious scope, “Megalopolis” is poised to captivate audiences and critics alike at Cannes, offering a thought-provoking exploration of contemporary society and the human condition. Prepare to be spellbound as Coppola unveils his latest cinematic opus on the prestigious Cannes stage, where it is sure to leave an indelible mark on the world of cinema. It is undoubtedly set to be one of the most star studded main premieres.

Nathalie Emmanuel burst onto the scene with Game of Thrones but I haven’t really seen her out much since the show wrapped. This is the next big thing for her and I am really excited to see just how she will handle bringing glamour to the Cannes Film Festival red carpet. She doesn’t experiment much with the designers she wears on the red carpet. I would expect that when we see Nathalie on the red carpet in Cannes this year that she will be wearing one of three brands: Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, or Christian Dior, and I would say that whoever it is will dress her for all of her appearances over the course of the festival. I went with Dior. Now while I don’t really love Dior by Maria Grazia Chiuri there are some people whom I feel the brand is the right fit for. Nathalie is one of those few people. She has this very bohemian yet very feminine approach to dressing and I that is the definition of what Maria is doing at Dior. I would love to see Nathalie wearing this beaded tulle sheer gown which feels live a vintage overdress worn without a slip, but I think that it would look ever so chic on Nathalie. I don’t really love this gown, but I think I would love it on Nathalie. I always say even the worst dress on the right person has the potential to become a major moment. I would style it with a finger wave inspired hairstyle, brown smokey eyes, dark pink lips, a pair of black strappy Christian Dior crystal embellished sandals, and a dazzling selection of Bulgari jewelry to create a Cannes premiere worthy moment.

Now for the day after the premiere for the photocall for the film I picked a look from the Christian Dior Fall 2024 RTW collection for Nathalie. This navy and beige Christian Dior Fall 2024 RTW sleeveless co-ord which just changes the direction of the plaid from the top to the trousers is a very simple and chic look and that is why I think it is a perfect photocall look. You will see that over the course of the wishes for films screening at the festival that I either go big with avant garde couture or I go very simple and chic. Nathalie isn’t an avant garde girlie to me so I wanted to make sure that the photocall look just made sense. Now I usually shy away from darker colors for Cannes photocalls because well its such a light and beachy location that I like bright and airy colors, but I think it just works beautifully for her. I would then style it with a short curly hairstyle, light brown eye makeup, pink lips, a pair of black lace Christian Dior pointed toe pumps, and Bulgari jewelry including rose gold Diva’s Dream diamond drop earrings, a white ceramic and rose gold Serpenti coil watch, a white diamond ring set in rose gold, and a sapphire cocktail ring to really make this a look perfect for Cannes.

Aubrey Plaza was announced as a face of Loewe earlier this year and so far she’s just worn the yellow post it note gown to the Emmy’s as a face of the brand. I assume that she will probably be wearing custom Loewe this year, but since I used so much of the Fall 2024 RTW collection in my Met wishes I was over everything that could work. So I went elsewhere. I would love to see Aubrey dazzle on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet wearing this gold and silver fully embellished Carolina Herrera Fall 2024 RTW evening set which includes a sleeveless cropped top and a high waisted column skirt. This was easily one of my favorite looks from this collection and I think it would be a very chic moment for Aubrey to bring to life in Cannes. She loves a good skin moment and this would do so in a very chic and elegant way. A sleek side parted updo, defined eyes, bold red lips, a gold CH Carolina Herrera crystal embellished minaudiere, simple gold Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals, and a selection of Pomellato jewelry including diamond and moonstone chain drop earrings set in rose gold and a statement two finger flower ring would all come together to finish this look beautifully.

Now for the photocall I went with a little more avant garde look with this orange Louis Vuitton Fall 2024 RTW structured silk trunk print mini dress. Aubrey has worn a couple of LV looks in the past and actually does the brand some justice and I feel like this fun moment would be a really chic and unexpected moment for her to wear. I feel like a chic pulled back hairstyle with bangs, a pair of cognac Louis Vuitton ‘Roxy’ peep toe platform sandals, and some simple 18k gold and diamond Mejuri jewelry to make it a chic look for a Cannes photocall.

Chloe Fineman was pretty far down the cast list for Megalopolis so I have no idea if she will actually head to Cannes to help promote the movie. I hope she does because while she doesn’t do a whole lot of red carpets I absolutely adore her style. I feel like Chloe would definitely be able to come up with some chic moments for Cannes should she join the cast to promote the film. I decided I wanted to see Chloe give us goddess glamour on the red carpet at the Palais wearing this ivory chiffon Oscar de la Renta Fall 2024 RTW draped gown with sequin floral applique details on the bodice. This gown was only seen on the Moda Operandi trunk show for this collection and wasn’t in the lookbook. It is so freaking chic and I think that it would look absolutely beautiful on Chloe. I would then style this gown with a romantic wavy updo, soft smokey eyes, pink lips, a pair of ivory glitter Jimmy Choo ‘Max’ peep toe platform pumps, an orange plexi Tyler Ellis ‘Perry’ clutch (even though clutches don’t really work for people premiering films at Cannes as the cast and crews link arms to walk the red carpet), and statement Bulgari jewelry including drop earrings which feature an exquisite pair of triangular-cut morganites totaling 42.19 carats, surrounded by pink tourmalines, mandarin garnets and diamonds, all set in 18-karat pink gold, a high jewelry bracelet in rose gold with white diamonds, and a watermelon pink spinel, emerald, and diamond cocktail ring to really make this a super gorgeous ethereal moment for Chloe.

Now I couldn’t pick wishes for Chloe to wear in Cannes and not pick something from French luxury legacy brand Hermès for her. She is one of the few people whom has actually worn Hermès for the red carpet and I had to pick something from them for her to wear. Now Hermès is not known for their evening wear so I turned to them for Chloe’s photocall look picking this sand colored polo dress with a cool buttoned waistband from the brands Spring 2024 RTW collection. It is a very chic look and definitely something that is perfect for a photocall in Cannes. I would style this dress with a loose casual updo, brown soft smokey eyes, coral lips, gold leather Aquazzura ‘Atelier Plateau’ platform sandals, and some simple Stephen Webster jewelry to really make it head to toe perfection.

Now when it comes to the Cannes Film Festival jury they won’t be on every red carpet or even be seen on a red carpet. Now that said I started picking looks for this years jurt president Greta Gerwig early so she will be in all of the wishes for every premiere. I want to see her turn out as many looks as the festival will allow her to. This wish is for Greta to give classic glamour wearing this black off the shoulder column gown from The Row Resort 2025 collection. I either love or loathe seeing The Row on the red carpet and Greta has a long history with the brand, so I definitely think she would be the perfect person to bring this beautiful and simple gown to a red carpet. It is a great jury look as it isn’t something that will take focus from the people who’s film is premiering. I wouldn’t keep the look simple tho instead I would style this gown with a sleek side parted pixie, soft smokey eyes, light punk lips, a black The Row clutch with a long tassel, a pair of black Manolo Blahnik ‘Turgi’ point toe pumps, and a selection of white diamond and onyx Boucheron jewelry including stud earrings, collar necklace and cuff bracelet from the ‘Boucheron Damier Cabochon’ collection and a statement and a ‘Lierre de Paris Paris Ivy’ ring.

I am really excited to see what Lily Gladstone will bring to the red carpet in Cannes this year over the course of her run as a member of Greta Gerwig’s International Feature Film Jury. I have been enjoying getting to know Lily’s style over the last year. From her Valentino Couture tribute to the Osage womens wearing blankets at last years Cannes Film Festival premiere of Killers of the Flower Moon to her custom Gucci x Joe Big Mountain at the Oscars where she was nominated for Best Actress thanks to that film she showed us how she can incorporate her native heritage into her looks. For one of her looks at the festival I would love to see Lily give us this ethereal lilac Christian Dior Spring 2020 Couture pleated chiffon caped caftan style gown moment. I feel like this style would look so effortless chic and glamorous on Lily and with the purple, gold and white Huckleberry Women beaded earrings it would be a look that does still showcase a major native moment. A loose updo, defined eyes, peachy pink lips, two Wempe rings, and a pair of light gold Christian Dior pointed toe pumps would add the perfect finishing touches to this look.

I mentioned yesterday that I am really excited to the potential of seeing Fan Bingbing bring some major moments to the red carpets in Cannes. She is one who delivers a lot of go big or go home moment and this red Tony Ward Spring 2024 Couture ball gown would be another for her. I love when Fan Bingbing gives us retro inspired moment and I feel like this gown with its round asymmetrical portrait neckline would deliver that beautifully for her. Now while I am sure that Fan will be all over some of the satellite events over the course of the festival this gown is destined for a moment on the red carpet at the Palais de Festivals. I just know that she could put herself in contention for Best Dressed of the Year wearing this gown on that red carpet where it has the platform to really shine. To style this superb vintage inspired glam moment I would add a romantic updo with a single tendril dropped down the side of the face, a red 3D flower detailed Jimmy Choo ‘Cloud’ clutch, a pair of red satin Casadei ‘Donna’ platform sandals, and a statement selection of jewelry from Chinese designer Bao Bao Wan including that stunning statement necklace with a giant red tourmaline surrounded by pink sapphires and white diamonds.

As I said yesterday supermodel and L’Oreal Paris ambassador Cindy Bruna embodies the essence of modern glamour and sophistication. I always love to see what she is going to bring to the red carpet in Cannes. You never know what to expect. She uses the red carpet at the Palais de Festivals as a place to experiment. Where the Giambattista Valli Couture ensemble I styled for Cindy yesterday was all about exaggerated classic glamour this wish all about modern space age eleganza extravaganza. I would absolutely love to see Cindy take to the Cannes red carpet wearing this silver sequin Maticevski Pre-Fall 2024 ‘Orbital’ gown which features a dramatic ruffle detail, long sleeves, and a sweeping train. This is definitely a gown that a supermodel has to wear to really make it work. I feel like Cindy would show us how it’s done making this look effortless styling it with a sleek side parted updo, soft smokey eyes, deep taupe lips, a pair of silver crystal embellished Aquazzura ‘Gatsby’ plexi pointed toe slingback pumps, and a selection of simply dazzling Chopard emerald and diamond jewelry including cluster earrings with large pendant drops, a large white diamond cocktail ring, and an emerald cut emerald ring.

Finishing out this list is one of L’Oreal Paris’s newest L’Orealista’s Kendall Jenner. They made the announcement of Kendall’s ambassadorship last July so while Kendall has been to the Cannes Film Festival many time this year would be her first with the iconic makeup brand. She’s been in the past with jewelry brands like Chopard and because she was participating in Naomi Campbell’s Fashion Fro Relief Gala. I am very intrigued to see what she will bring this year. I would love to see her give us sporty glam wearing this gold sequined Valentino Spring 2024 Couture gown which kind of looks like it was inspired by a classic tank top but it gives sexy with bold side cutouts. I really do think that this would be one of Kendall’s best red carpet moments ever. She isn’t one who I feel like breathes a whole lot of life into the things she wears, but sometimes in special looks on extra special red carpets she can serve up something that really makes me say wow. I would style this look with a tight high ponytail, soft bronze smokey eyes, thick lashes, a nude lips, black Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals, a pair of champagne diamond Chopard Red Carpet collection waterfall earrings and a white diamond ‘Precious Lace’ cocktail ring to make this a perfect look for Kendall’s L’Orealista debut at Cannes.
