On Friday, June 5, Netflix will release the 4th and final season of 13 Reasons Why. The controversial series has been one I have always looked forward to. I love how it tackles issues that most sweep under the rug and give us a starting point to have hard conversations on topics like suicide, sexuality, bullying, rape, toxic masculinity, and mass shootings in schools. I am really interested in seeing what the writers have in store for the series final season. The official synopsis for season 4 of 13 Reasons Why says: “In the series’ final season, Liberty High School’s Senior Class prepares for graduation. But before they say goodbye, they’ll have to keep a dangerous secret buried and face heartbreaking choices that could impact their futures forever.” Definitely sounds like I will be binge watching the new season this weekend. Now while I am sad to see the show go away I am also sad that due to COVID-19 there will not be a premiere. Since the show premiered in March 2017 the cast has definitely become ones to watch on the red carpet. So I decided that in lieu of a premiere I would still create wishes for the cast to commemorate the finale. Alisha Boe has been a slow burn when it comes to high fashion on the red carpet, but last year she was definitely making the fashion show rounds. So I was hoping to see what she would have brought to this red carpet. I was looking at the collections searching for the perfect look to pick for Alisha and I saw this gold Galvan Pre-Fall 2020 ensemble which features a striped sequin ‘Stargaze’ satin camisole top and a silk satin ‘Valetta’ high waisted a-line midi skirt. It was definitely something that I immediately imagined Alisha wearing and now here we are. The look is very 90’s inspired and I feel that Alisha would have definitely made it that uber cool girl moment on the red carpet at the shows final season premiere. Adding a loose curly updo, defined eyes, glossy nude lips, a L’Afshar ‘Eva Crushed Ice’ top handle clear acrylic mini bag with gold hardware, a pair of gold metallic leather Jimmy Choo ‘Misty’ ankle strap stiletto sandals, and Jennifer Fisher ‘Samira’ 2 inch yellow gold thick hoop earrings would definitely have made this look scream high fashion modern glamour. Katherine Langford has become the biggest fashion stars out of the cast of 13 Reasons Why. While we may not see her character in the final season of the show. I won’t go into details as why as not to have any specific spoilers, but I would have expected that Katherine would have been there to see the show off in high style. I went for something super feminine and elegant for her with this lipstick red Giambattista Valli Fall 2020 RTW off the shoulder silk chiffon midi dress which features a ruched bodice, defined waist, and a flared skirt. The look is elegant and sophisticated and I believe that she would have definitely brought this look to life with effortless ease styling it with a glamorous waves, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a pair of red patent leather Christian Louboutin ‘Kate’ pointed toe pumps, and a bit of sparkle via simple Djula white gold set white diamond and ruby lace drop earrings. I’ve apparently never talked about Kate Walsh here on If I Was A Stylist. That surprises me seeing I know she has great style. On red carpets in the past from Stephane Rolland, J. Mendel, Rubin Singer, and Elie Saab Couture way back in the day. She had a supporting role in 13 Reasons Why so I would have loved to see her celebrate the shows final season with the rest of the cast. I went for crisp glamour with this oxblood Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2020 jumpsuit which features a heavily sequined bodice with long sleeves and a plunging neckline, sash tie belted waist, and high waist wide leg trousers for Kate. I feel like it would be a great look to get her back in Elie Saab after a long period of time away from the label. It would have been a dazzling look for her to wear for this premiere. Style it with her new strawberry blond locks in a sleek center-parted updo, defined eyes, matching oxblood red lips, a gold metal Elie Saab box clutch, of modern classic black Gianvito Rossi ‘Plexi’ PVC detailed pointed toe pumps, and a pair of brown, pink, & blue precious stone Brumani cluster earrings with teardrop pendants and it would have been a fantastic moment. Selena Gomez serves as one of the executive producers of 13 Reasons Why. I still remember the shimmering tangerine orange Oscar de la Renta mini dress with ombre pom pom Les Bonbons earrings that she wore for the premiere of Season 1. It almost made my best dressed of the year list that year. Since then Selena has sat the premiere’s out letting the cast work the red carpet themselves. However I would have loved to see her join the cast to celebrate the series final season and do so in high style. I saw this electric blue asymmetrical silk taffeta Elie Saab Fall 2020 RTW mini dress which features a one shoulder rosette detail and was immediately sold. I would love to see Selena rock the look as presented with that dramatic cape, but I feel like in comparison to the looks I’ve picked for everyone else that it would be too much. So I would just edit this look to be the mini dress without the cape. Had she rocked the red carpet at the premiere wearing this dress without the cape I would have styled it with a sleek updo, defined eyes, bright pink lips, a Judith Leiber Couture ‘Slim Slide’ crystal embellished cassette tape clutch, a pair of metallic blue Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist Disco’ platform ankle strap sandals, and majestic blue crystal Atelier Swarovski ‘Tigris’ stud earrings to make this a major monochromatic moment. Had she gone for the drama and kept the cape I would have used the same styling minus the clutch. Either way it would have been a major moment.
