Did you think that I was going to be slowing down with all my wishes for the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival just yet? Nope! In fact this post marks the halfway point of this years wishes. I can’t believe that I have 14 sets of wishes this year and I feel like for the most part I went a little more glamorous than we see overall on the red carpet at TIFF. One of the biggest premieres of the festival sounds like it is going to be Steve McQueen’s Widows. The cast is really great and I am very excited to see what everyone will bring. Viola Davis is one who I am always interested to see on the red carpet. While I don’t always love what Viola wears I do know that she gives her all. She loves a major color moment so I decided that I wanted to give a color moment for her to rock on this TIFF premiere red carpet. I decided to take a red sequin skirt embellished with gold pineapples from the Brandon Maxwell Fall 2018 RTW collection and turn it into a strapless column gown with a sweetheart neckline for Viola. She owns a bold gown on the red carpet and this simple gown with a bold silhouette would make for a very chic moment on this red carpet. I think pulled back full curls, defined eyes, matching bold red lips, a red satin Versace medusa lock box clutch, and red Gianvito Rossi think ankle strap sandals would make this look perfection for a TIFF premiere red carpet. Cynthia Erivo also stars in Widows alongside Viola and I am always intrigued to see what she will bring to life on the red carpet. I can either love or loathe what Cynthia rocks on the red carpet and I hope that when she steps out in Toronto for this film I am really praying that her look falls firmly in the love category. That is exactly what would happen if she stepped out wearing this silver leaf pattern sequin and beaded Azzaro Fall 2018 Couture long sleeve wrap style gown which features a plunging neckline and high split. It is definitely one of the edgiest takes on glamour that I picked for someone to wear in Toronto this year. To be honest I would typically only pick a gown like this for someone to wear for a music event, but I definitely think that if anyone could sell it to me for a film premiere it would be Cynthia. The gown is such a dazzling statement on it’s own that I think that it would be perfectly complimented with a buzzed hairstyle, smokey eyes, red lips, a charcoal Tyler Ellis ‘Lily’ marbled plexi faceted clutch, and a pair of black satin and silver crystal embellished Rene Caovilla ribbon strap sandals. I get excited when I see Elizabeth Debicki’s name on a cast list because I know she has the potential to wow me. Often enough I end up underwhelmed with Elizabeth’s choices, but when she gets it right its oh so right. When she steps out at TIFF to promote Widows that she gets it right and I think that is exactly what the case would be if she stepped out wearing this off white custom Monse silk gown which features a single sleeve, cape like detail, and a flowing skirt. I took a blouse from Monse that I saw online and I definitely think that this custom gown would be a really glamorous meshing of the 30’s and the 90’s for Elizabeth to bring to this red carpet. I would add a vintage inspired updo, defined eyes, rose pink lips, a pair of pearl white Jimmy Choo ‘Sacora’ faux pearl embellished sandals, and Tiffany & Co. diamond and pearl tassel drop earrings to really make this a really glamorous moment for Elizabeth. I don’t usually get excited about what Michelle Rodriguez rocks on the red carpet, but I think that with the level of glam that her Widows co-stars typically bring to the red carpet that she will up her game. In the past some of the best gowns that Michelle has rocked on the red carpet in the past have come courtesy of Zuhair Murad and I definitely think that this wine Zuhair Murad Resort 2019 sheer gown which features a halter neck, intricate tonal embroidery, and an a-line skirt would be perfect for her to be able to hang with the most glamorous of the fashionistas in her cast. I think that with old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, antique rose pink lips, a pair of matching burgundy wine Stuart Weitzman ‘Square Nudist’ sandals, and Oscar de la Renta burgundy crystal earrings that this would be that sexy and glamorous yet tough glam moment that I know Michelle tends to gravitate towards on the red carpet. Earlier this year at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival while acting as a jury member Lea Seydoux showcased that she is a worthy brand ambassador for Louis Vuitton wearing the brand exclusively for the festival and not having a single flop of a look at all. That was a huge coup because I tend to be very up and down with my love of Louis Vuitton gowns on the red carpet. I would imagine that when she steps out to promote Kursk at TIFF that Lea will once again opt for a custom Louis Vuitton ensemble, and I am just praying that it is something that takes my breath away just like her Cannes gowns. I was inspired by the caped styles that we saw from the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2019 collection. I took that idea and turned it into this dramatic dark red velvet gown and I definitely think that it is something that Lea would definitely be able to sell to me on this red carpet. A curly vintage inspired updo, defined smokey eyes, dark red lips, and a pair of black and gold Malone Souliers ‘Mika’ strappy peep toe pumps all would really make this another incredibly glamorous LV red carpet moment for Lea.

The 2018 Toronto International Film Festival will open on Thursday September 6, 2018 and runs through Sunday September 16, 2018.
