While I love watching all of the awards shows I have to say that the Tony Awards are probably one of my favorites. I live in Charlotte, North Carolina and pretty much every year for the last five years I have gone to a viewing party at a theater in the city. I get all dressed up, people show up in everything from PJs to tuxedos. I’m usually on the latter end of the spectrum but usually a tuxedo jacket and jeans. I love being surrounded with other theater lovers as we celebrate the best of the last year on Broadway. A goal of mine is to one day attend the Tony Awards and write about the fashion from inside the big event, but for now that is as close as I get! The glamour of Tony night is very different than other award shows. Ashley Park stars as one of everyone’s favorite characters, Gretchen Wieners, in Mean Girls on Broadway and her performance has earned her a nomination for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical. I have to say that Ashley is absolutely beautiful and I cannot wait to see what she will bring to the red carpet on Sunday night! Usually J. Mendel dresses at least one nominee. He dressed Stephanie J. Block last year and Patina Miller in 2015 and this year I would love to see him dress Ashley with a gown whose lookbooks are hot off the presses. I think that Ashley would have the perfect princess moment on this red carpet wearing this blush pink and grey J. Mendel Resort 2019 strapless tulle lace gown which features a tired a-line skirt. I feel like other Hollywood film and television stars like Julie Bowen and Kerry Washington are also going to fight over this dress, but I think that this is really a perfect gown for the Tony Awards red carpet and that Ashley would be able to make it work just as beautifully as either of those ladies. I think that if styled with a smokey silver Rodo crystal embellished clutch, a romantic updo, smokey eyes, dusty rose pink lips, a pair of smokey grey and rose gold Rene Caovilla embellished ankle strap sandals, and antique Gregorian diamond drop earrings from Beladora that this would be an absolutely glamorous moment.Hailey Kilgore is another of the Broadway ladies that I have very little idea about what she will wear on the red carpet. With big events like this I pick hundreds of gowns and cocktail dresses which I deem appropriate for the event and then pick from there. I went on a limb and put this black and gold foil print Irina Vitjaz Fall 2018 RTW strapless gown which features a lapel like sweetheart neckline, peplum waist, a-line ball skirt, and a dramatic train in that mix. Irina is an evening wear designer that we usually see during New York Fashion Week, but we don’t see her designs on the red carpet. I wonder if she would lend out for someone nominated for a Tony Award. This gown is definitely dramatic enough for a Tony nominee and I think that with the right styling that this would be a great look for Hailey. Add a sleek vintage inspired updo, smokey eyes, glossy wine red lips, a pair of black glitter Stuart Weitzman ‘100SQUARENUDIST’ ankle strap sandals, and vintage 18k gold and diamond floral cluster earrings and this would be an absolutely beautiful moment for the Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical nominee. From what I have seen Lauren Ridloff has this very flirty, feminine, bohemian sense of style and I am actually wondering what she will bring to the red carpet on Sunday night. I feel like going for classic glam with an ease with this white one shoulder Ralph Lauren Spring 2018 RTW linen gown which features a nautical rope strap and a flared hem would be something that Lauren would be drawn to. I do wonder if linen is formal enough of a fabric for this red carpet, but I think that with the right styling that the gown could be pretty amazing. Tight curls, a face of natural yet defined sun-kissed makeup, a nude Edie Parker ‘Flavia’ pearlescent acrylic clutch, a pair of white Marc Ellis buckled open toe sandals, and a pair of antique gold Fred Leighton chandelier earrings all would perfectly round out this as a major yet effortless moment for Lauren to wear on her first Tony Awards red carpet. Rachel Brosnahan appeared in an Off-Broadway revival of Shakespeare’s Othello and has recently won a Golden Globe Award for her performance in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and will be on hand Sunday night to present at the 2018 Tony Awards. She has become quite the unexpected fashionista since the Golden Globes. She has worn Vionnet, Zuhair Murad, ADEAM, Brandon Maxwell, Miu Miu, Calvin Klein, Off-White, Carolina Herrera, and Saint Laurent and I decided I wanted to add another check to that list. I feel like she is one of the few who will be able to bring the couture factor to the Tony Awards red carpet. I would love to see Rachel wearing this raspberry red Giambattista Valli Fall 2017 Couture chiffon gown which features off the shoulder tied sleeves, sweetheart neckline, corseted bodice, peplum, a-line skirt, and sweeping train. This is one of those beautiful gowns that I am really shocked to know hasn’t been worn since it was presented last July. I definitely think that Rachel would really make this a beautiful moment on this red carpet especially when paired with a sleek updo, defined eyes, soft red lips, a pair of gold Aquazzura ‘Purist’ sandals, and a statement 18k gold and ruby Tiffany & Co. by Jean Schlumberger chevron fringe necklace.Of course Regina George got nominated for a Tony Award. The gorgeous Taylor Louderman plays the iconic character in Mean Girls on Broadway and I am interested in seeing what she will bring to the red carpet. I don’t exactly see Taylor as a Regina George, but maybe after the shows performance during this years telecast I will have a different take. I definitely think that Taylor is gorgeous and could wear just about anything. I went back and forth on many different looks for her to rock on the red carpet this weekend, but ultimately I decided to snatch this sky blue Alex Perry gown which features a one shoulder design, an asymmetric style, cape sleeve, cut out details and a long length off the virtual racks of FarFetch. This sleek and glamorous gown is definitely a statement look, and I definitely think that Taylor would be the perfect person to bring this gown to life on the red carpet. Adding a sleek updo, defined eyes, light pink lips, a pair of silver Francesco Russo slingback mirror sandals, and Martin Katz aquamarine and diamond teardrop earrings would all really ensure that this look is head to toe perfection for the actress.

The 2018 Tony Awards will take place on Sunday June 10, 2018.
