The 2018 Film Independent Spirit Awards are just a week and a day away and I am really excited to see what stars will bring to the red carpet this year. There have been great moments that range from structured glamour to bohemian elegance. Everything from pants and cocktail dresses to gowns has been seen on this red carpet. I know that every star takes the dress code of Spirit Awards differently and I feel like that is what makes the Spirit Awards red carpet so good. Aubrey Plaza is one of the presenters at this years Spirit Awards and definitely one that I am really interested in seeing what she will bring. I love Aubrey’s sense of style and I think that she would be one that would bring something outside of the standard bohemian box that one expects from this red carpet. I think that this black and grey Giamba Pre-Fall 2018 long sleeve shift dress which features chevron color blocking is a perfect mesh of city slicker and bohemian babe, and I think that is exactly what Aubrey could deliver on this red carpet. I think loose waves, bold winged eyes, nude lips, black Charlotte Olympia ‘Eugenie’ crystal heel platform sandals, and a pair of Forevermark knotted diamond rope drop earrings would all ensure that this is the perfect moment for Aubrey to rock on this red carpet. Ava DuVernay is another of the presenters this year at the Spirit Awards and again is one that I am really excited to see what she is going to bring. Ava has some great style and with the promo tour for A Wrinkle in Time being in full swing by then I know that she is going to be on tip top form on every red carpet she steps out for. I would love to see her give feminine elegance wearing this black Gucci floral embroidered midi dress which I think is the perfect mix of chic femininity and bohemian elegance. She does a black dress incredibly well and I think that the pink and green floral embroidery makes this a major moment and really makes this look anything but a basic LBD. Style it with chic braids, defined eyed, punchy pink lips, a black velvet Tyler Ellis ‘Aimee’ rounded clutch, a pair of black Gucci ‘GG Pearl’ pumps, and Irene Neuwirth pink multi tone tourmaline drop earrings to really ensure that this is another beautiful moment for Ava.Scarlett Johansson is one I know has amazing potential, but often times I feel like she doesn’t live up to the hype that I have laid out for her. I hope that when she steps onto the red carpet next Saturday at the 2018 Film Independent Spirit Awards that she does so in high style, delivering a really major moment on the red carpet. I want her to step out of the LBD range and rock this black and navy Michael Kors Fall 2018 RTW strapless pencil dress which features beaded floral embroidery, a belted waist, and a ruffled detail on one side of the dress. Overall this Michael Kors collection seemed to be all over the place, but I think that individually pieces like this dress have the potential to be a really great moment and I think that Scarlett has the stature and elegance to really make this dress a true glam moment on this red carpet. Pair it with a sleek hairstyle, navy defined eyed, light pink lips, a pair of navy Gianvito Rossi ‘Portofino’ sandals, and Harry Winston diamond and sapphire stud earrings to really ensure that is exactly what this look is, glamour. Tessa Thompson joined Lily Collins to announce the 2018 Spirit Awards nominations and will be one of the presenters at next Saturday’s awards show. I definitely think that Tessa can deliver this bohemian glamour moment on the red carpet at the Spirit Awards. I want to see Tessa snatch this rust colored Jonathan Simkhai Fall 2018 RTW off the shoulder midi dress which features long sleeves and scarf fringe that just walked the runway 2 weeks ago during New York Fashion Week. I don’t think that many could make a dress like this work off the runway, but Tessa knows how to really make some great moments out of looks that are a little bit more avant garde. This look on many other stars I think that this dress would wear them, but I know that Tessa has the presence to rock this dress. Especially to rock this dress on the Spirit Awards red carpet. I feel like with a sleek high bun, defined eyes, burgundy lips, a pair of gold Aquazzura ‘Sundance’ platform sandals, and statement 18k gold set Fernando Jorge ‘Electric Shock emerald earrings all would make sure that this is a really major moment for Tessa. Timothee Chalamet has been one of the only men this awards season who I have consistently put in wish lists. He has a great relaxed sense of style and I think that Oscar week for him has me really excited. I want to see him walk the 2018 Spirit Awards, where he is nominated for Best Male Lead for his performance in Call Me By Your Name, wearing this rose pink Berluti Fall 2018 Menswear two button suit. Timmy was front row at this show and is a consistent friend of the house so I would imagine that he would wear the designer a lot over the next week. He was introduced to the brand by Tilda Swinton and I feel like its a great fit for him. This light pink suit just screams cool guy and that is exactly the vibe that I get from Timothee every time he steps out on the red carpet. I would pair it with a black and white striped Haider Ackermann button down shirt (Haider Ackermann is the designer of Berluti) and a pair of black Gucci ‘Novel’ fringed loafers to really make it a head to toe cool guy look.
