Ladies and Gentleman 2018 is upon us! The red carpets of award season kick off tomorrow and I am really excited to see what all comes from all the stars from now until the end of the year. I want to kick the year off in high style and just keep the momentum going. Today’s wishes will keep us going with my wishes for the 2018 Critics Choice Awards. Following the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday stars will stick around in LA to attend the 2018 Critics Choice Awards next Sunday. The vibe on this red carpet is more laid back than the Globes and we can see everything from cocktail dresses to couture gowns. Allison Janney is expected to be one of the big contenders this awards season. Her race to the Oscars kicks off tomorrow night at the Palm Springs Awards, and I want to see her on top form from now until the Oscars. I think that this purple sleeveless Basil Soda Fall 2017 Couture sleeveless, beaded, column gown which features a chic side split would be something extremely glamorous and chic moment for her to rock on this red carpet. Since we awards season starts tomorrow I think we will see what award season will do for Allison. I think that she will rise to the occasion and deliver great look after great look. She works with the same stylist that dressed Kristen Stewart and Julie Bowen so the range of possibilities is endless. Take this gown and finish it with a romantic updo, smokey eye, nude glossy lip, purple Edie Parker ‘Jean’ clutch, black Gianvito Rossi ‘Ava’ satin crystal buckle sandals, and a pair of amethyst Cartier drop earrings to really ensure that this is another best dressed moment for Allison. Christine Baranski earned a nomination for Best Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Diane Lockhart in The Good Fight, the spinoff of the hit series The Good Wife, and I have to say I usually enjoy seeing her on big red carpets like this. She almost always wears a gorgeous Zac Posen gown on the red carpet, and I decided to keep that going by choosing this forest green stripe satin crepe gown which features a high neckline, bias draped silhouette, cape style sleeves, and a deep v back. This gown is classic glamour in bold color and I definitely believe that Christine would absolutely sell this gown to me on the red carpet. Christine does know glamour and I think that with her signature hairstyle, defined eyes, a red lip, matching satin Badgley Mischka ‘Kiara’ crystal back, peep toe pumps, and a pair of diamond and emerald Harry Winston cluster pendant earrings that she would just ooze glamour on the red carpet. Best Actress in a Comedy Series nominee Ellie Kemper is always one that I look forward to seeing on the red carpet at these award shows. She loves color and patterns, so I can always count on her to bring something bold to the red carpet. I would love to see her bring really bold color to this red carpet wearing this goldenrod yellow Jenny Packham Resort 2018 cap sleeve, a-line gown which features a beaded bodice, crystal belt buckle, and a tulle skirt. A red head in yellow is always something that can be absolutely beautiful, and I know that Ellie would more than make it work. Style the look with loose waves, a simple eye, pink lip, yellow Edie Parker ‘Jean’ clutch, gold Schutz ‘Saasha Lee’ ankle wrap sandals, and a pair of pink tourmaline H. Stern chandelier earrings to really ensure that this gown is perfection from head to toe.Hong Chau is definitely one of my ones to watch this award season. She is working with stylist Erica Cloud who also dresses Mandy Moore, Sophia Bush, and Lake Bell, and has already shown some really great moments already. I don’t know if she will wear back to back Elie Saab dresses, but following the couture gown I picked for her to wear for the Golden Globes I turned back to the brand for her to wear on the red carpet at the Critics Choice Awards. This chic white Elie Saab Spring 2018 RTW tea length dress which features floral embroidery throughout, pockets, and an A-line skirt is something that I think would be beautiful on Hong and perfect for the Critics Choice Awards red carpet. A tight ponytail, smokey eye, glossy pink lips, a pair of nude Aquazzura ‘Eden’ chandelier crystal heel sandals, and a selection of emerald Bulgari jewelry including a pair of a of square drop earrings and a vintage 1970’s cocktail ring all would ensure that Hong has yet another sartorial win on her hands. Laurie Metcalf is giving a lot of potential award winning buzz for her performance in Lady Bird which has earned her a Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. I don’t think that Laurie will be one to really watch when it comes to her style over the course of awards season, but sometimes when one is on a winning streak they tend to rise to the occasion. I think that for the red carpet at the Critics Choice Awards I think that this black Elizabeth Kennedy Spring 2018 RTW gown which features a slip style under layer and a long sleeve sheer overlay with white horse embroidery throughout would be a very chic look for Laurie to wear on this red carpet. Simple and elegant, with just a bit of a twist via the embroidery. This is the perfect representation of what a star like Laurie should wear during her awards season run. I honestly think that a sleek hairstyle, defined eye, red lip, and a pair of black No. 21 satin bow detail slingback pumps all would ensure that Laurie delivers an absolutely beautiful moment on this red carpet. Nicole Kidman is probably the one I am most excited to see on the red carpets over awards season. She had an incredible 2017. She took the title of the red carpet diva last year, and I am praying that she will continue to deliver that same magic on the red carpets over awards season. This black, sliver, and blue Rodarte Fall 2015 RTW hand beaded gown complete with a plunging neckline, ostrich feather trim, and an asymmetrical tiered skirt is definitely more on the wild side, but I think that if anyone can make it come to life on the red carpet I think that it would be the gorgeous Australian actress. With a win likely for Best Actress in a TV Movie or Limited Series this gown might be a little more out there than what one would expect, but my motto is #WhenInDoubtBeExtra. Sleek low bun, smokey eye, light pink lip, silver Aquazzura ‘Chateau’ asymmetric crystal embellished slingback sandals, and a pair of Cartier diamond and sapphire earrings all would ensure that the gown is the focus of this amazing moment. Finishing out the first of many wish lists this year is Best Actress in a Comedy Series nominee Sutton Foster. I have long loved seeing Sutton on the red carpet, from her time on Broadway to her transition into television. I would love to see Sutton deliver modern glamour on this red carpet wearing this navy blue Georges Hobeika Spring 2018 RTW mermaid gown which features an off the shoulder neckline, silver beaded leaf details, and a pooling train. I have loved this gown since I first saw it in the lookbook several months ago I started thinking of who would be able to deliver this gown on the red carpet. I think that Sutton would deliver this gown on the top of her game. Going all out glam with this look with a chic updo, smokey eye, rose pink lips, an indigo blue Judith Leiber Couture satin coffered clutch, navy velvet Tony Bianco ‘Karvan’ sandals, a pair of modern Martin Katz white and black diamond drop earrings all would ensure that this is another beautiful moment for Sutton.

The 2018 Critics Choice Awards will take place on Thursday January 11, 2018.
