Only think that sits between you and my wishes for this years Golden Globe Awards are these wishes for the 2018 Palm Springs International Film Festival and 24 hours. So enjoy my wishes for the unofficial kick off of award season before the craziness of the official kick off starts tomorrow. Holly Hunter has never been one that I get really excited about seeing on the red carpet, but with her prospects of an Oscar nomination really likely I think it is time to discuss looks that could make her a style star. At the Palm Springs International Film Festival Black Tie Awards Gala I would love to see Holly, who is being honored with the Career Achievement Award, amp up her style with this beautiful raspberry colored Roland Mouret ‘Hepworth’ gown which features crystal beaded cap sleeves, off-the-shoulder neckline, column silhouette with a fluted hem. Chic, age appropriate, and elegant all wrapped in a bold color. I have a feeling that we will be seeing a lot of Holly over the course of award season and I think that she might just be the dark horse. If she styled the look with a sleek updo, smokey eye, nude lip, black Schutz ‘Luriane’ sandals, and a pair of simple Neil Lane Diamond pendant earrings this look would be perfectly chic.Mary J. Blige has burst onto the film scene with her role in Mudbound and it has earned her the PSIFF’s Breakthrough Performance Award. As the possibility of awards consideration got more and more, Mary swapped her stylists for the incomparable Law Roach and I cannot wait to see what they have up their sleeves. I think that kicking off awards season at the PSIFF going uber glam wearing this hibiscus red Elizabeth Kennedy Spring 2018 RTW gown which features a one shoulder neckline with a long sleeve and draping effect. The glamour of this look is perfect way to really get Mary in the mood for a major film awards season. Everything about this gown screams glamour, but I wouldn’t just let that be it. I want to see Mary go for the full glam. A chic updo, red lips, thick black liner, red Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Sophie’ sandals, and majorly dazzling Jacob & Co. diamond and ruby chandelier earrings all would add to the major level of glamour for Mary to kick off awards season.  With all of the Best Actress awards that Saoirse Ronan has taken home already I feel like we are sure to see her sweep all the awards ceremonies this season. She will kick off awards season taking home the Desert Palm Achievement Award for her role in Lady Bird. When it comes to the red carpet I can either love what Saoirse is wearing or I don’t, and with the expectation of winning awards I want to see her really rock the red carpets at all of the events. A chic way for her to kick off award season would be wearing this light pink Brandon Maxwell Spring 2018 RTW pintucked crepe gown which features a mock neck, open back, center split, belted waist, and column silhouette. Saoirse’s stylist has done a little bit of Brandon Maxwell on the red carpet in the past so I think that there is a possibility that this could happen. Styling it with simple silver JAGGAR ‘Lane’ metallic sandals, a chic updo, defined eyes, a bold pink lip, and a pair of Chopard pink sapphire and diamond bar earrings all would ensure that Saoirse kicks off her Oscar run in high style.
