The night before the Golden Globe Awards there will be the annual Art of Elysium ‘Heaven’ Gala which will be creative directed by this years visionary John Legend. Every year a different celebrity dictates what the vibe of the gala will be and have included Jim Sheridan, Shepard Fairey, Mark Mothersbaugh, Cameron Silver, Colleen Atwood, Linda Perry, Marina Abramović, Vivienne Westwood and Andreas Kronthaler, and Stevie Wonder in years past. This event is always one of the chicest charity galas outside of amfAR and the Met due to its mission of empowering artists and communities of need to join together and emotionally triumph over their circumstances through art as well as its very convenient placing on an the eve of a major awards show. There are several stars whom I love to see on the red carpet that sit on this years host committee. Kristen Bell, Kate Bosworth, Kat Graham, Scarlett Johansson, Jaime King, Rooney Mara, Olivia Munn, Kate Mara, Katy Perry, Zoe Saldana, Brittany Snow, Mena Suvari, and Paz Vega are on this years host committee. I infused some of them into this list that also consists of stars who have attended several of these gala’s in the past that I would like to see on the carpet yet again this year. One person that I can bet on us seeing at this years Art of Elysium ‘Heaven’ gala is Chrissy Teigan. As John Legends wife she plays the role of the plus one perfectly. Chrissy is currently preggers with hers and John’s second child. During her last pregnancy Chrissy delivered several really major fashion moments on the red carpet in designers like Yousef Al Jasmi, Michael Kors, and Marchesa. For the ‘Heaven’ gala I went to a new designer I found searching the Vogue.com coverage of Stockholm Fashion Week. I feel like the go to idea for a ‘Heaven’ gala would be light and ethereal, but I think that going the opposite with this flaming flower printed Diana Orving Spring 2018 RTW long sleeve mermaid gown would be a great flip on the expected and would stand in contrast to the white Jonathan Simkhai gown Chrissy wore last year. Chrissy loves to show off her burgeoning baby bump, and this gown would show her bump off beautifully. Add a black and gold rhinestone embellished Serpui clutch, a pair of black Gianvito Rossi ‘Grace’ pumps, Veronica Lake waves over one shoulder, a smokey eye, nude lip, and vintage gold and diamond Van Cleef & Arpels tassel earrings to really make this a major stand out moment for Chrissy.Jaime King is on the host committee of this years ‘Heaven’ gala and I am really excited to see what this year will bring. In the past she worn long gowns designed by the likes of Valentino and Vivienne Westwood and short cocktail looks like Altuzarra. This year I went short with this bold floral printed Fendi Spring 2018 RTW ensemble which features a crop top and a flared skirt for Jaime. This dress captivated me the moment it took to the runway back in September and I think that Jaime would be the perfect candidate to give it a red carpet moment. She often wears Fendi designs, which I often think get reserved for just a select few stars to rock on a red carpet. What would make this look gala ready is all in the styling. I think that if Jaime paired it with an orange satin Fendi minaudiere, ocean blue velvet Aquazzura ‘Simply Irresistible’ pumps, chic waves tucked behind the years, smokey eyes, rose pink lips, and a pair of diamond and citrine H. Stern drop earrings all would ensure that this look is gala ready. Zendaya’s stye is always one of the most unpredictable. She and stylist Law Roach stick to no boundaries when it comes to what she wears. The last time Zendaya was on the red carpet at a ‘Heaven’ gala she suited up in a white Vivienne Westwood corseted creation. I would love to see her walk the red carpet this year bringing some edge to what is otherwise a very glamorous evening. I think that Z would shut the red carpet down wearing this gold Guo Pei Fall 2017 Couture ensemble which features a one shoulder draped lace top and bootcut leather pants. I feel like this isn’t an obvious choice for this kind of event, but that is what I love about Zendaya. She never gives us the expected. This look is exactly that, unexpected. A chic braided high bun, smokey eyes, a glossy nude lip, and a pair of gold Jimmy Choo ‘Klerise’ metallic platform pumps are all that I would add to this look since it would already pop on this red carpet enough. Amber Heard is a very constant guest at the Art of Elysium’s ‘Heaven’ gala. In the past we have seen her wear both vintage and runway Dior, custom Donna Karan Atelier, Valentino, J. Mendel, and Vivienne Westwood. I hope we see her yet again this year. When I was putting this list together and thinking of who I wanted to see on it I knew I wanted Amber and I knew exactly what the perfect gown would be. I fell in love with this Oscar de la Renta black velvet floral printed gown which features a nude lining, dramatic neckline, and a fit to flare silhouette when I first saw the Fall 2017 gown, not shown on the runway, hit the virtual shelves of FarFetch. I think that Amber has the right kind of bombshell, vampiress, sensual glamour to really make this gown come to life on a red carpet and I think that this kind of event is the perfect place for her to do so. Style it with a chic updo, kohl rimmed eyes, a red lip, simple black satin Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Dionne’ sandals, and a pair of statement emerald and diamond Cartier High Jewellery earrings to really make this look perfection from head to toe. Camilla Belle was the recipient of the Spirit of Elysium award last year and is a frequent flier on this red carpet. I love to see her bring her very ladylike glamour to the red carpet so I am saying some prayers that she will be there. I would love to see her rock this beautiful Carolina Herrera Resort 2018 pearl embroidered gown which features a blush bodice with jewel neckline and a full black circular skirt. This dress is perfectly crowned with a blue belt with a statement yellow flower to really seal the 60’s inspired femininity of the creation. I have been in love with this dress since it was first presented months ago, but haven’t had the right girl or the right occasion to put it in a wish list, and I think that this would be the perfect match all around. The styling of this look could either be a help or hindrance for Camilla because the wrong hairstyle could age her dramatically. I think that a sleek low bun, a light smokey eye, a pink lip, and a pair of simple black Paul Andrew ‘Zenadia’ pumps are all that would be needed to really make this a very chic moment.

The 2018 Art of Elysium ‘Heaven’ Gala will take place on Saturday January 6, 2018.
