I have to say that most years I am just feeling pretty blah about the red carpet at the BET Awards. In the past there hasn’t been a whole lot of a-list star power that has walked the red carpet, but this year it seems like we will have more looks to ogle over than ever. The 2017 BET Awards will take place on Sunday at the Microsoft Theater in LA hosted by Leslie Jones.Star of the HBO series Insecure Issa Rae is nominated for Best Actress at the BET Awards, and will be on hand as one of the nights many presenters. Issa has been growing on the red carpet and is turning into quite the fashionista, so I am really excited to see what she will wear on the red carpet Sunday night at the BET Awards. For the red carpet I would love to see Issa step onto the red carpet at the BET Awards wearing this gorgeous emerald green Georges Hobeika Fall 2017 RTW ensemble which features a sleeveless ruffle lace top which includes a belt like bead embroidered design and a lace midi length skirt. Issa does color amazingly and I am really hoping that when she steps out on the red carpet on Sunday that she delivers a really bold and colorful moment on the red carpet. This emerald green look from Georges Hobeika would do that to perfection. I would love to see Issa keep the green pumps from the runway adding an emerald green Edie Parker clutch, beautiful and bouncy curls, and a smokey eye to really deliver this as a chic and glamorous moment on the red carpet. TV personality La La Anthony is one of the presenters at the BET Awards and I don’t know what to expect when she steps out on Sunday. La La used to be one who delivered this more subtle approach to sexy and sultry, but I think that for the BET Awards that we will see her go full sexy on the red carpet. This aubergine Haney Fall 2017 RTW body-con dress which features a keyhole neck with a golden medallion and criss-cross draped straps is something that I could definitely see La La wearing and I do think that it would be a perfect look for the starlet to wear on the red carpet at the BET Awards. The dress is uber sexy and La La will undoubtedly ooze even more sex appeal wearing this dress on the red carpet than she usually does, but it also gives this chic and sultry vibe. Rounding the look with a tight ponytail, nude lip, smokey eye, and strappy gold sandals would ensure that La La delivers a perfect red carpet look. Queen Latifah is part of the cast of the upcoming romantic comedy Girls Trip whose cast is slated to take the state at the BET Awards on Sunday. When the Queen takes the red carpet it is usually a very regal moment. Her past history of BET Awards red carpet looks is very formal so I think that going for a gown for Queen Latifah is not out of the question. I think that she would look absolutely gorgeous walking the red carpet at the BET Awards wearing this teal Tadashi Shoji Resort 2018 draped goddess gown which features spaghetti straps and off the shoulder draped sleeves. I think that this color would look absolutely amazing on Queen Latifah and the silhouette would accentuate all of her gorgeous curves. A chic updo, gold sandals, a teal smokey eye, glossy pink lip, gold drop earrings, a gold clutch, and a gold cuff bracelet would just make this one of my favorite looks from Queen Latifah ever. And rounding out today’s BET Awards wishes is the gorgeous Taraji P. Henson, who is nominated for Best Actress for her work in Hidden Figures and Empire. The gorgeous actress has really wowed me all year long with a mix of tough and sultry looks which are still very elegant. I think that for the BET Awards red carpet that this grape purple Jeffrey Dodd Fall 2017 RTW ensemble which features a draped strapless chiffon top and boot-cut high waisted trousers would be the perfect look for Taraji to rock on the red carpet. The expected route for Taraji to go with her look on the red carpet is short and sparkly (maybe something from Balmain,) but I am always about going for the chic and more unexpected looks for the red carpet. The color is what really makes this look and I think Taraji could really shut the red carpet down. A pair of silver sandals, diamond drop earrings, smokey eye, red lip, & a wavy bob would just finish this look to perfection.
